Too quick to collect

There is a female jeepney conductor notorious for asking passengers to pay their fares even as they have just taken the ride. This conductress, who usually sits at the end of the seat towards the entrance/exit, begins collecting fares not two minutes after a passenger boards.

Her lines vary: “Sinsiyo na imo, ma’am, sir?” “Layo pa imo naugan, dong, day?” “Ma’am, ako lang kuhaon daan ang plite aron ta madali.” Some passengers do not mind the abrupt collection. But others do. “Wa pa gani nanginit atong lubot naningil na,” an EAR informer said. The jeepney plies the Labangon-downtown route.
