GOING BANANAS. Vietnam is now using banana leaves instead of plastic to package certain foods. Will that idea work here? According to environmentalists it is a good idea to lower the amount of trash in the landfills because banana leaves will naturally decompose.
However, others are saying it will take a lot of banana trees to provide the leaves for this, they also said the time isn’t proper since banana trees require a lot of water to maintain, something that is sorely lacking this dry season.
