A mayor's communion selfie

DISRUPTION. Communion is one important part of a Holy Mass. After receiving Christ's body in the form of a bread, a communicant poses to ask for supplications after making amends with past transgressions. A churchgoer should not do anything during communion except to pray or sing with the communion songs, and refrain from doing something that would disrupt other worshippers.

SELFIE. Former congressman Tomas Osmeña presented a photo of his protégé-turned political enemy, suspended mayor Mike Rama, which appeared to have disrupted the communion during the closing mass of the 51st International Eucharistic Congress by taking selfie with his smartphone.

POLITICAL. Tomas' actuation may be branded as a political gimmick, considering that it is now election season. But it was indeed an unacceptable act of a government official to take selfie during communion thereby disturbing others, who in the photo also appeared taking shots at the mayor.
