Crossword puzzle

CROSSWORD: There is an elementary school class in Manila where fifth and sixth graders are adept in filling up crossword puzzles. An Ear informer whose grade six daughter belongs to this class, said the filling up of crossword puzzles is part of that elementary school class extra-curricular activities.

EDUCATIONAL. The teacher-in-charge of the class said crossword puzzles are educational. Many of her students have high grades in English vocabulary and spelling because of the crossword puzzles.

COMPETITION. The teacher-in-charge said she is thinking of sending one of her students to the crossword puzzle competition among graders in Australia.
