Too much ado about the Bangsamoro basic law?

Why is Malacañan too fixated at the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law? We, of course, understand, that there is a need to negotiate peace with our Muslim brothers and sisters. But the question is: should we only negotiate with the MILF? Does the MILF speak for all the Muslim people ? Do they have a mandate from the majority of the Muslims?  What assurance do we have that if we sign a peace agreement and give them a law like the BBL, that the other factions will honor the agreement? We have our doubts. After Mamasapano, we have lost our trust and confidence in the MILF.

Why is Dr Miriam Coronel-Ferrer so passionate in pushing for the immediate deliberations and approval of the BBL, even when the tears of the widows and orphans of the Fallen 44 have not even dried yet ? Is that BBL so vital that the victims are peremptorily forgotten and set aside, in favor of rushing this basic law for the Bangsa Moro ? Why is this Secretary Teresita " Ging " Quintos Deles so biased in favor of the MILF, to the extent of testifying in both the Senate and the House to favor the side of the MILF and against the SAF, the PNP and the AFP ? On which side do they really stand ?

Are Deles and Ferrer for us or against us ? Why are they defending the MILF in insisting that the PNP SAF should have '' coordinated''  with the rebel group when the police troopers, representing the sovereign state of the Republic, were merely performing an official act of serving an arrest warrant against an international terrorist inside Philippine territory ? Why did not Ferrer and Deles ask the MILF why was Marwan living safely and openly for quite a time inside their controlled territory?

Having virtually admitted that Marwan was allowed to live inside that MILF-controlled enclave, why would Deles and Ferrer insist that our government forces should clear it with the rebels before entering that area ?  Are these ladies really promoting the interests of the greater majority of the Filipinos or are they already co-opted by the MILF ?They should listen to Senator Alan Peter Cayetano and Senator Cynthia Villar who was visibly irked by their apparent biases in favor of the MILF. They should resign immediately for conflct of interests.

The BBL, even if passed by Congress, will most probably be declared unconstitutional. We  can not create a state within a state. Sovereignty is indivisible and inalienable. Besides, the BBL seeks to abolish the ARMM, a body created by the Constitution, and thus can only be abolished by constitutional amendment. They can not create the Bangsa Moro by mere legislation. Congress does not have that power. And so, all these ado about the BBL is a grandiose exercise in futility.

The BBL is not the  ''daang matuwid'' towards peace. It is the wrong solution to the wrong problem. The sooner we realize that reality, the better for all Filipinos. Let us talk peace with the Muslims but not with the MILF. We have just proven that they are not really our friends. And we have reasons to believe that the MILF and the BIFF are Batman and Robin, giving us a song and dance. Come on, we were not born yesterday. We should all know better than Deles and Ferrer.
