Lechon

THE EAR - The Freeman

LECHON. As a new resident in a residential subdivision in Labangon, a businessman from Bacolod said he wanted to promote good relation with his closest neighbor. There was a chance for him to do this during the celebration of the Chinese New Year. He ordered a lechon each for his closest neighbor.

QUANDARY. Now he is in a quandary. He did not know that one of his neighbors is a Muslim to whom a lechon is a no-no. The businessman asked our Ear informer for advice as to what to do. "My Muslim neighbor might feel insulted," he said.
