Valiant 44

THE EAR - The Freeman

VALIANT. There are suggestions that the 44 SAF troopers killed in a firefight against the BIFF-MILF combine should be called  Valiant 44, not Fallen 44 as they are currently being called in the news media.

MORE FIT. They say Valiant 44 is more fitting as it indicates the courage of the SAF commandos while "fallen" indicated defeat. The Ear has no stand in this suggestion which was made through an e-mail to a columnist.
