"Kuwarta lang"

THE EAR - The Freeman

LOOSE CHANGE. A popular singer and tv personality was heard telling a story about a beggar who refused to accept a 25-centavos. He  threw it back to the giver, demanding a P5-peso coin. "Mura'g dili katuohan," said our Ear informer, "pero di na tagsa rang hitabua."

SAME EXPERIENCE. Our Ear informer himself had the same experience. He included two 25-centavo coins in his PUJ fare. The jeepney conductor returned the coins to him saying: "Ayaw lang nang momho, Sir, kuwarta lang."

NO RESPECT. Our informer said: "I hate to say this but even our poorest of the poor no longer respect the centavo."
