DESTINATIONS. There are two places in Cebu which some people call visitors (not necessarily tourist) destinations. They are the imported ukay-ukay garments shops and the Taboan dried fish market. "Makaingon ko nga lupig ang Magellan's Cross or ang Taoist Temple," said our Ear informer, a tourist van driver.
CONFERENCE. Every time there is a national or regional conference or convention in Cebu all roads lead to the dried fish market and the ukay-ukay shops, our Ear informer said.
WIVES. Wives of conference or convention participants from Metro Manila and some other places go first to the Taboan market for the favorite Cebu dried especially the now famous danggit and the ukay-ukay shops of which Cebu has plenty. "Our ukay-ukay shops attract outsiders (non-Cebuanos) because the stocks are fresh from the shipping containers," our Ear informer learned.
