BANKNOTES. A Filipino doctor working in Singapore was on vacation here recently. While here he had observed that banknotes or paper bills from cashiers in some shopping malls are crumpled, dirty, and almost rotten. He tried not to accept the change handed to him by the cashier but was pinched ("gikusi") by his wife. "Meaning, don't make a scene."
