Giggling girls

THE EAR - The Freeman

ANAY. Two girls on a jeepney started to giggle after hearing a man say "kaon anay" to his cellphone. They probably understood what the man had said, which literally means "eat first" in Waray but was tickled anyway.

LAUGH. "Anay" in Cebuano means "termite." The girls started to exchange jokes using the word "anay," and this got almost all the passengers laughing, contributing their own jokes.

PHONE. The man, seemingly unaware of the merriment, was still talking seriously over his phone when the girls got off the vehicle.
