Job mismatch

JOBS MISMATCH. TF business reporter Carlo S. Lorenciana's story "Jobs Mismatch Keeps Unemployment High" (TF, Aug. 12) reminds The Ear of two brothers with "mismatch jobs" abroad. Tony (family name withheld) is a dentist but failing to land a dental job in Guam, decided to apply for an automotive mechanic's job (at which he's good) and got it.

GUARD. A year later, Tony wrote his family in Tagbilaran that he's well settled as chief security guard in a car assembly plant. Tony's brother, a pharmacist, works as bartender in Oklahoma. Prior to that, he was a ticket checker on a tourist ferry in San Francisco.
