The trouble with names

DAWN OF A NEW ERROR.  An Ear source said she ran into some trouble while following up on some documents because the midwife wrote the wrong spelling of her name in her birth certificate. Instead of her real spelling it was the error that had to be followed and carried over to other documents. "Lami-a ipabarang atong midwife oy," she told The Ear.

GALAS? Another woman had a different experience altogether when she studied in a university abroad. She missed her name during roll call because her American professors would mispronounce it badly beyond recognition. After this happened twice to her already, she just kept track of the alphabetical order the names were read then raised her hands when she thought it was her name being called. The system has worked well so far.
