Happy, happy God-blessed 2014 once again to you all!
For this New Year, for you all, we offer and share the following messages and prayers taken from various sources.
From Our Prayer Daily Newsletter which you can access daily prayers for this new year at ourprayer@email.ourprayer.org, this 2013 December 27th message: "We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers." (1 Thessalonians 1:2).
"Each today, well lived, makes yesterday a dream of happiness and each tomorrow a vision of hope. Look, therefore, to this one day, for it and it alone is life…Free yourself of yesterday's worries."
Then, this prayer: "Lord, I thank You for the gift of the past year as I anticipate the days of the new."
The same prayer site, in its 2013 December 26th message, shared the following reminder relevant for us all this New Year:
"Christ was born to bring new Life. May the New Year renew new Life in you. Examine your past difficulties and understand the lessons that have been shown to you."
And this prayer: "You are the Author of life, Lord; write Your renewing love upon my heart."
From another source, this Jan. 1, 2014 reading shared by the Living Water writer Moses:
"The Lord makes his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you." (Numbers 6:25).
"At the start of this new year, the reading is a prayer that God will 'shine' upon us. May His divine rays indeed give us life and light! However, like the Earth that orbits around the sun, we must first be sure to orbit our lives around God. The more we center our lives on Him this year, the more we will be blessed."
And this prayer, "Father, I consecrate this new year to You. Bless me with the grace to center all my life, with all its priorities and concerns, on You. In Jesus' name, Amen."
The January 1 message in the 1997 version of L.B. Cowman's Streams in the Desert is one of our favorites that we always want to share again and again with you all:
"Today we stand at the threshold of the unknown. Before us lies a new year, and we are going forward to take possession of it. Who knows what we will find? What new experiences or changes will come our way? What new needs will arise?"
"In spite of the uncertainty before you, we have a cheerful and comforting message from our heavenly Father: The land you are…to take possession of is a land of mountains and valleys that drinks rain from heaven. It is a land the Lord your God cares for; the eyes of the Lord…are continually on it from the beginning of the year to its end." (Deuteronomy 11:11-12).
"The Lord is to be our Source of supply."
"To those who are anxious comes the gracious promise of our heavenly Father: If He is the Source of our mercies, mercy will never fail us."
"We need only to trust. The Father comes near to take our hand and lead us on our way today. It will be a good and blessed New Year!"
And finally, this poem shared by Nicholaus Ludwig Zinzendorf :
"He leads us on by paths we did not know; upward He leads us, though our steps be slow, though oft we faint and falter on the way, though storms and darkness oft obscure the day; Yet when the clouds are gone, We know He leads us on!"
"He leads us on through the unquiet years; past all our dreamland hopes, and doubts and fears, He guides our steps, through all the tangled maze of losses, sorrows, and o'er clouded days; We know His will is done; and still He leads us on."
"The Lord who 'thus far' has helped you will help you all your journey through." (Charles H. Spurgeon, December 31 message, Streams in the Desert).
HALLELUJAH! Happy, happy God-blessed and a prayerful, peaceful new year once again to us all!!!
