Here’s a good movie material
A Boholano businessman who was in Tacloban after Yolanda's visit said; "Arang-arang ang linog kay gub-on ra atong bay, samtang ang super typhoon gub-on pa bay ta, anoron pa gyud sa gitawag nilang storm surge ngadto's dagat."

Super typhoon Yolanda (known internationally as Haiyan) had already lost much steam upon hitting Vietnam. Everything she got in her system she had already unleashed in Phl.

PhilSTAR reporter Jaime Laude's news story (last Nov. 12) about Air Force Lt. Col. Fermin Carangan's struggle to survive in high seas to save himself and a seven-year-old boy at the height of Yolanda's fury would make a good movie. No, not like the common Tagalog run-of-the-mill film but about heroism and God's saving grace.

A 70-year-old Cebuana resident of Tacloban City feeling she could not survive the bad beating she had when Yolanda struck, had only one last request to her son: "Ayaw kalimot pamayri ang akong mga utang."

Hong Kong plans to revoke the visa-free entry of Pinoys most of whom are shoppers. I have been told by a Cebuano English language teacher in a Hong Kong school that most Pinoys and Pinays) go to HK mainly to shop.

"I wonder why they have to spend much just to shop in Hong Kong's shopping malls," said this Cebuano language teacher. "Maybe for prestige or pabilib sa mga kaila nga di ka-afford adtong HK."

Having lived in Hong Kong for some years this Cebuano teacher (please don't mention her name) said things sold in Hong Kong's shopping malls are of the same quality as those sold in the malls in Manila and Cebu but they carry higher price tags.

OVERHEARD. The calamities that have been hitting the Visayas including Cebu led to the formation of a prayer brigade by neighbors in a residential subdivision in Lahug. Commenting on this, the driver of one of the organizers was heard saying: "Ang anak nga dalagita sa akong agawon kamao na mangadye." Asked a fellow driver: "Kay ngano man diay sa una di kamao?" Answer: "Ang nahibaw-an lang nga pangadye sa una mao ang Oh, my God."
