STINKING PROBLEM.The papers say there are more than 60,000 evacuees crowding the Zamboanga City sports stadium grandstand and the athletic ground. One sanitary inspector from the health department told the Ear informer that "the disposal of human waste" is their big problem. "It's a stinking problem," he said.

PAIL SYSTEM. One evacuee told our informer that he had planned to introduce the pail system of waste collecting and disposal like what they did (or maybe still do) in Manila's slum areas. But this was immediately shot down by a health official. "Wa sad sila'y alternatibo sa akong ideya," said the evacuee.
