Up in arms over Bastille Day article

As a French resident of Cebu, I read with interest your article on the celebration of Bastille Day published in the local newspaper 'The Freeman' on September 3 and in particular I have noted your personal following remark:

"And if you are lucky enough to be known personally to the French Honorary Consul Michel Lhuillier, Dr. Amparito Lhuillier or the Officers of Alliance Française de Cebu, you can be a guest to the celebrations of the Bastille Day or the La Fête Nationale which commemorates the beginning of the new French Republic on July 14, 1789. Your favorite food columnist is one of those lucky regulars to the Bastille Day celebrations by reason of his profession."

Your statement is a disgrace to the French Community of Cebu and the Visayas and in particular to those who are lucky enough - as you said - to know Mr. Michel Lhuillier but are never invited to this yearly important celebration. You owe them an immediate apology.
