Lot owner's problem

THE EAR - The Freeman

LOT OWNER. A Cebuano businessman who used to have a lot in a town in Negros Or. has this advice to other lot owners: “Be careful about the people requesting to 'squat' in their lot.” He said he had pity for a homeless family who asked that they put up a barong-barong on his lot, promising to leave when he (lot owner) would need his lot for one purpose of another.

OTHER SQUATTERS. The lot owner said: “Wa magdugay napuno na ang yuta ko og mga iskuwater.” When he wanted to sell the lot to his brother, the brother wouldn't buy unless the so-called informal settlers would leave the property. “Dili na ra ba mopahawa. Nagpalaban pa og abogado ug gihadlok pa ko og kiha sa korte,” the lot owner said.
