Man stabs own mother
CEBU, Philippines - A woman was stabbed by his own son after she allegedly refused to give him money last Wednesday evening in Sitio Hollow Block, Barangay Lagtang, Talisay City, police said.
The victim, Susana Paduga, of legal age, sustained stab wounds in different parts of her body, although now in a safe condition.
Police identified the suspect as Mateo Paduga, 39.
Senior Police Officer 2 Yvonne Ilustrisimo of Talisay City Police Station said the suspect asked for money from his mother but the latter reportedly turned down the request of her son for yet unknown reason.
The suspect got irked and reportedly went berserk. Armed with scissors, the suspect stabbed his mother, said Ilustrisimo.
Fortunately, Ilustrisimo and his colleagues arrived and immediately disarmed the suspect.
During frisking, authorities seized a .38 revolver from the suspect's possession. The gun was loaded with live ammunition.
The suspect was brought to Talisay City Police Office detention cell while the victim was brought to Talisay City District Hospital.
"Wala man gyud naantimano ang pagdunggab mao nga samad ug garas-garas ra ang naangkon sa inahan," Ilustrisimo said.
Ilustrisimo said they already filed charges of violation for Comelec’s election gun ban against the suspect but they are still waiting for the victim to appear to their office to formally file separate charges against her son. (FREEMAN)
