CEBU, Philippines – A 23-year-old man was arrested yesterday morning for reportedly trying to burn their house down in Purok African Daisy, Sitio Locatha, Barangay Looc, Lapu-Lapu City.

Frank Lloyd Casipong is now detained at Gun-ob Police Station.

Senior Police Officer 2 Joseph Andin said Casipong got mad after his mother, Felma, 60, did not give him P50 cash and after finding out that the house was dirty.

The fire damaged the interiors of the two-story house, according to Fire Officer 1 Hadji Samonte. Damage was pegged at P150,000.

The fire started around 8:36 a.m. and was controlled within three minutes, Samonte added.

Witnesses said it was Frank Lloyd who started the fire with the use of a card board.

The suspect reportedly admitted to the police that he uses illegal drugs and that he was “high” at the time of the incident.

Andin said Frank Loyd’s father, Joel, is willing to file arsonry charges against his son.  (FREEMAN)
