CEBU, Philippines – A construction worker was killed in front of his live-in partner during a drinking spree in Sitio Rattan, Barangay Tanke, Talisay City last Sunday afternoon.
The victim, Jessie Casio, 45, resident of Sitio Mahayahay, Barangay Cansojong, sustained gunshot wounds to the head.
The suspect, Edile Boy Reyes alias “Bogoy,” 28, single, resident of said place, fled after the shooting.
Senior Police Officer 1 Mikie Espina, investigator at Talisay City Police Station, said the victim, together with his live-in partner, visited his relatives in the sitio and had a drinking binge with the father of his live-in partner.
Later, they transferred to another place and continued drinking. Suddenly, without any provocation, the suspect pulled out his caliber .45 and reportedly shot the victim twice hitting him in the head.
The victim fell on the ground bathed in his own blood while the suspect fled and was nowhere to be found.
The victim was rushed to Talisay City District Hospital but the attending physician declared him dead on arrival.
The responding police officers recovered two empty shells of .45 caliber bullet at the crime scene.
"Nikalit lang gyud og bunot kuno ang suspek nga wala man unta daw kuno’y gi-awayan ang suspek ug ang biktima," Espina said.
Police said they will conduct investigation to determine the motive of the crime and for the possible arrest of the suspect. (FREEMAN)
