CEBU, Philippines - The Talisay City Council wound up the year with a session that approved Mayor Johnny De los Reyes' request for funding for the performance incentives of city workers.
Talisay City Vice Mayor Romeo Villarante announced yesterday that their session last Tuesday was their last for this year.
Vice Mayor Villarante said last Tuesday's regular session was their last meeting for this year and they will be back on January 5, next year.
During the session, the council approved the Supplemental Budget No. 5 of Mayor De los Reyes.
A big chunk of the SB goes to the bonuses of the regular employees, as well as the job order workers.
Regular employees who receive less than P30,000 will get a bonus amounting to P30,000 while regular employees having a salary of more than P30,000 will receive a bonus equivalent to their one month salary.
Villarante said the council will be making use of their Christmas break to relax and to spend time with their families. However, he said they are not discounting the possibility that the city mayor or the council itself will call for a special quorum for an important discussion.
He added that time to time, they will meet to tackle concerns about the 2016 annual budget.
Villarante said he will spend his Christmas visiting his relatives together with his family.
Last Wednesday, the legislative department had their Christmas party at a resort in Lapu-Lapu City.
The city council will be having their next session on January 5 next year. (FREEMAN)
