Lapu-Lapu cops net P123T 'shabu'

CEBU, Philippines – Police seized P123,000 worth of illegal drugs in Sitio Masiwa, Barangay Marigondon, Lapu-Lapu City last Monday night.

Sherwin Sagarino, 42, was arrested around 10 p.m. in a buy-bust conducted by operatives from the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office- City Intelligence Branch.

Senior Inspector Verniño Noserale, chief of LCPO-CIB, said Sagarino was caught red-handed by their police poseur buyer, after he handed him five small sachets of shabu.

At the height of the drug negotiation, the police poseur buyer then identified himself as a policeman and declared arrest on Sagarino.

From the suspect, the police confiscated nine small sachets and two medium-sized packs of suspected shabu, as well as alleged proceeds amounting P400.

Noserale said the confiscated items will serve as evidence against the suspect.

Sagarino is now detained in LCPO holding cell and is facing charges under RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (FREEMAN)
