CEBU, Philippines – Mandaue City will showcase its locally-made products at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation meetings in Manila on November 12 to 19.
City Administrator James Abadia said at least P5 million has been earmarked for this event that is expected to introduce their local products to the APEC delegates and guests, including US President Barack Obama throughout the weeklong activity.
He said they will be bringing their world-renowned furniture, accessories and other items to be displayed in the media lounge of the APEC venue at the World Trade Center.
He said Mayor Jonas Cortes will be attending the opening ceremony.
The P5 million budget will be used for freighting the items in and out of the expo, as well as for the travel expenses of those who are going, among others.
Abadia said it was the Department of Foreign Affairs which invited them to display their goods, following the success of their past expos here in Cebu, also during the previous APEC meetings.
He said since last August, they have received several invitations to do exhibits of their local products, which he said will benefit the local industry of the city. (FREEMAN)
