CEBU, Philippines - Police in Talisay City are already laying down security measures during the celebration of the city fiesta next week.
Superintendent Germano Mallari, chief of Talisay City Police,yesterday said they will ensure security of the devotees and the public during the feast of Sta. Teresa de Avila this coming October 15.
He said he already presented his security plan to the higher officials of Cebu Provincial Police Office led by Sr. Supt. Noel Gillamac.
He added that police will be deployed in the parish church in Barangay Poblacion; "piryahan" near the old municipal hall and "piryahan" adjacent to the City Hall.
"Visible gyud na atong tropa diha sa lugar kun hain daghan ang tawo sa kabalaka nga mutumaw ang kasamok kay dili kalikayan nga naa baya'y inum-inom," Mallari said.
He said CPPO promised them to send additional troops to help them maintain peace and order.
"Ready nami 100 percent busa kadtong mapahimuslanon palayo mo sa Talisay," Mallari said.
Mallari Said there are no reports yet of arrival of any robbery group. However, his intelligence team is still continuously monitoring.
He said they would not lose their guards since local perpetrators are still in the vicinity looking for chances to victimize innocent persons.
He urged the public to be vigilant and to report to them whatever unusual situation they will observe in their area. (FREEMAN)
