CEBU, Philippines - Policemen seized P70,000 worth of suspected drugs from a 30-year-old man in Sitio San Isidro Labrador, Barangay Basak, Lapu-Lapu City on Thursday evening.
Bobby Gabatan, reportedly unemployed and a resident of the area, was arrested in a buy-bust operation after a police poseur buyer transacted with him around 10:30 in the evening.
Police Inspector Alcon Escusora, chief of Basak-Marigondon Police Station, said they confiscated two medium sized packs of illegal shabu and seven small sachets from Gabatan's possession.
A small container of a chewing gum, reportedly used to store the small sachets of illegal drugs, was also confiscated including the alleged proceeds of his illegal transaction which amounted to P300.
Police also recovered the P200 buy-bust money.
Gabatan is detained in the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office holding cell and is set to face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (FREEMAN)
