CEBU, Philippines – All 49 personnel of the Mandaue City Police Office passed the random drug test conducted Monday.
The test was carried out while the police officers were attending a seminar on Performance Governance System at the conference room of the MCPO headquarters.
MCPO director Senior Superintendent Petronelli Baldebrin said the subjects of the drug test came from six Mandaue City police stations and police units.
After a drug test last year that caught one of his personnel positive of substance abuse, Baldebrin said he was glad to know of the recent results.
Monday's drug test was MCPO's first for this year, although it was the fifth test since 2014.
Baldebrin shared MCPO personnel undergo random drug test once every quarter.
The police official also recalled that the officer who tested positive last year was immediately filed with a case before the Police Regional Office-7.
In the same test last year, two policemen were able to elude the test and two more went absent without official leave.
Currently, 100 more of Baldebrin's personnel have not undergone the drug test.
Baldebrin said policemen found to be drug users who would subject themselves to voluntary rehabilitation will be given the chance to continue police service.
Those found positive during a surprise random drug test will automatically be charged for dismissal and go through investigation.
