CEBU, Philippines - A 34-year-old woman stabbed her live-in partner outside a videoke bar in Barangay Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City yesterday dawn because of jealousy, police said.
Brian Bahian, 27, was wounded in the stomach after Genivive Navarro attacked him during a heated altercation. Both were stay-in workers of Magdalena Videoke bar located on M. Patalinghug Avenue.
According to Police Officer 2 Joseph Rouel Cutanda of the Homicide Section of Lapu-Lapu City Police Office, the two were drinking with friends when along the course of their conversation, Navarro reportedly got jealous and engaged in an argument with Bahian.
Navarro went out of the videoke bar, but Bahian followed her and another fight followed.
Police Officer 2 Cutanda said a witness told them that Navarro was “deeply hurt” with some of what Bahian had said, prompting her to stab him in the left part of his stomach.
Navarro evaded the responding policemen of Gun-ob Police Station while Bahian was rushed to Lapu-Lapu City District Hospital.
