CEBU, Philippines - Two alleged drug pushers were arrested in successive anti-illegal drug operations in two sitios in Barangay Calamba, Cebu City on Friday afternoon.
Joelito Siarot, 23, was apprehended after personally selling one small pack of suspected shabu to a police poseur buyer in exchange of P200 at V. Rama Street, Barangay Calamba, Cebu City last Friday.
San Nicolas Police Station chief, Senior Inspector Chuck Barandog said that Siarot is considered to be a level three drug pusher.
He added that they have subjected Siarot under surveillance for almost a month prior the operation after they received information that the latter is engaged in selling illegal drugs in the area.
The police confiscated two medium-sized sachets of suspected shabu, 35 small packs of suspected shabu including the subject of the buy bust, P200 marked money and P620 cash believed to be his illegal proceeds from the drug trade.
Barandog said that all the illegal drugs seized from Siarot are pegged at P30, 000.
Almost three hours after, elements of San Nicolas Police Station who were conducting roving patrol at the same area were able to arrest Ireneo Gamboa, 36 at Sitio Menulida, Barangay Calamba.
Barandog said that Gamboa was caught in the act having the illegal drugs in his possession just when they were having a saturation drive in the said barangay.
"Na-timing-an ra siya. Kampante ra man ga-transact sa area mao nasakpan ang mga pakete sa shabu sa iyang kamot. Diretso ra man niya na i-offer sa mga buyers," he said.
He said that Gamboa, who is also known as Jun-Jun Tahi, is also considered as a level three drug pusher similar to Siarot.
The police recovered 12 packs of suspected shabu from his possession with a total estimate value of P5, 000.
Both suspects who are now detained at San Nicolas Police Station will face charges for violation of Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. — (FREEMAN)
