Pa ‘hacks’ own son

CEBU, Philippines - A 54-year-old father was arrested after allegedly hacking his son in Barangay Punta Princesa, Cebu City on Tuesday.

Romeo Sanchez, 54, resident of the area, was brought to Punta Princesa Police Station after he reportedly hacked his son Jay-R Sanchez, 30, also a resident of the area.

Police Officer 2 Erwin Esares said the father and son had a heated argument regarding personal matters which resulted to the incident.

Jay-R sustained hacked wounds on his right leg.

However, PO2 Esares said Jay-R has decided not to pursue a case against his father.

Still on Tuesday, a 22-year-old man was injured after he was stabbed by his neighbor in Barangay Pahina, San Nicholas, Cebu City.

Kevin Rosel, a waiter and a resident of the area, sustained two stab wounds in the chest and at the back after he was stabbed by Aman Teves, of legal age and also a resident of the said place.

Initial investigation revealed that Rosel went out of his house to buy cigarettes when Teves suddenly appeared and stabbed him using an unidentified bladed object.

Rosel was rushed to Cebu City Medical Center for medical treatment while the suspect managed to escape from the area.

The police are still conducting a follow-up investigation on the case.  (FREEMAN)
