CEBU, Philippines - A total of 97 employees from different departments of the Mandaue City Hall were recently trained as customer service relation officers.
These newly trained CSROs will give investors and visitors "warm smiles and polite greetings" when they come to visit the City Hall.
The "city-hotel experience" project is part of the city's Performance Governance System initiative, a good governance framework designed by the Institute of Solidarity in Asia.
After the training early this week, the city launched its Customer Service Relation Office located at the lobby of the City Hall.
Equipped with a large flat-screen television, the office will be manned by some of the newly trained CSROs who are set to give a "hotel-type experience" in accommodating those who want to transact business at the City Hall.
During the unveiling of the CSR Office last Monday, employees also received their lanyards and badges from Mayor Jonas Cortes after having graduated from the two-day training on how to handle customers.
"Our customers are our greatest source of purpose. We derive our strength and energy from the satisfaction of the Mandauehanons," Cortes said in his speech.
Aside from the customer service training, the employees were also trained on basic sign language so they can also entertain clients with speech or hearing impairment, according to Human Resource Management Officer Michelle Yu.
The trainings were conducted last October and November this year.
Civil Service Commission-7 Director Maria Victoria Gabud commended the city for serving as an example to other LGUs in the implementation of the said project. (FREEMAN)
