CEBU, Philippines - A 42-year-old taxi driver claimed he was robbed by two unknown passengers near Gate 3 of South Road Properties in Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City on Thursday evening.
Miguelito Eyos, resident of Sitio Lariha, Barangay Kalunasan, Cebu City and driver of JMG Taxi, appeared at Mambaling Police Station after robbers allegedly carted away his earnings amounting to P1,900.
Initial investigation revealed that the two robbers requested the driver to take them to a restaurant at the SRP as they boarded near Barangay Tangke, Talisay City.
Despite having reached the place, however, the two allegedly instructed Eyos to keep on driving.
A few minutes after, the suspects allegedly pulled out an undetermined pistol and declared the holdup.
The suspects then fled towards the interior portion of Sitio Lawis, Alaska Mambaling, Eyos claimed.
Senior Police Officer 3 Sean Colobio of Mambaling Police Station said investigators are having a hard time arresting the suspects since the driver did not report the incident to the police right away.
"Wa pa kaayo naklaro sa investigators kay delayed man sad gud siya niari, 10:45 na siya sa gabii ni-report unya 9:30 nahitabo," Colobio said.
Colobio also said the driver was "inconsistent with his description" about the suspects, leaving them more puzzled.
A follow-up investigation will be conducted by the police to possibly identify the suspects. (FREEMAN)
