CEBU, Philippines – A lending collector lost his collections after he was robbed by two men onboard a motorcycle on Monday afternoon in Sitio Basbas, Barangay Pagsabungan, Mandaue City.
Manuel Booc, 31, of Barangay Quiot Pardo, Cebu City and a collector of DLM Inc., lost P5,000 cash after he was waylaid by two suspects onboard a red XRM motorcycle with no plate number.
Based on the account of the victim, he was collecting money from his customers around 3:10 p.m. last Monday and when he was on his way towards the highway, he was then waylaid by the two suspects.
One of the suspects who, the backrider, then aimed a .45 caliber firearm at him and said in the vernacular "kwarta ra'y tuyo, igawas ang kwarta, dalia."
Because of fear, he immediately handed his P5,000 collection and the suspect immediately boarded the motorcycle of his co-suspect who also aimed a .38 revolver at him as they hurriedly fled toward the corner of Barangay Canduman.
A hot pursuit was immediately conducted but failed to arrests the suspects.
Police Officer 1 Peter Martinez said the suspects succeeded in robbing the victim because there were only a few residential houses in the area.
