Girl, 13 yrs old, ‘raped’ after Liloan town swim

CEBU, Philippines - A 13-year-old girl sustained bruises in the different parts of her body after she was mauled and then allegedly raped by a 23-year-old companion while swimming in a beach resort in Liloan town last Thursday evening.

The girl, who is a resident of Barangay Nangka, Consolacion town accompanied by her mother, reported the incident to the Consolacion Police Station which led to the arrest of the suspect who was identified as Abdul Dimapuro, 23, of Sitio Laray in Barangay Pitogo, Consolacion.

Police Officer 3 Arthur Ariate of the Consolacion Police said before the incident took place, the victim together with her friends and the suspect, were having a swimming at a beach resort in Liloan.

As they were supposed to go home, the suspect volunteered to bring the victim home and told her to ride on his motorcycle.

Instead of bringing her home, however, the suspect took another road and brought the girl to a bushy field and forced her to take her clothes off.

But since the girl resisted, the suspect began mauling her.

She was only forced to take off her clothes when the latter took off a kitchen knife from his waist and pointed it to her. She said the man succeeded in raping her.

After lodging their complaint against the suspect, the police went to the suspect's house and arrested him.

The suspect is now detained at the Consolacion Police Station pending the filing of a rape case against him. (FREEMAN)
