Town names housing projects with permits

Jose P. Sollano - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - The municipal government of Consolacion has released a list of subdivisions and housing projects that have been granted permits by the town.

This is to prevent from selling lots those subdivision developers having no permits.

Earlier, Mayor Teresa Alegado admitted that the "reckless" approval of subdivision plans in Consolacion has worsened flooding in some areas.

Mayor Alegado said one of the biggest challenges she said she inherited from previous administrations was the "reckless approval of subdivision plans within the municipality with total disregard on the environmental effects of such undertakings."

According to Mayor Alegado, they are suffering the effects of such "wanton abandonment."

Areas like Pitogo, Garden Blooms Subdivision and Laray are now facing the risk of flooding, she pointed out.

Mostly of these subdivision and housing projects located at the mountain barangays of Consolacion.

The list of developments granted permits by the town includes Edenland Country Homes, Countryside Subdivision/Garden Bloom, Legacy Homes, Inc., Consolacion Memorial Gardens, Golden Heights Subdivision, Windfields Subdivision, Complex Subdivision, Monte Verde, Molave Highland Subdivision, Golden Access Subdivision, Briza Subdivision, Villa del Rio Heights Subdivision and Villa Marina Subdivision.

It also includes Salimbangon Property, Royal Cebu Phase II-A, Royal Cebu Phase I-A, Santa Lucia Business Center, Pueblo El Grande, Consolacion Valley Subdivision, D' Pearl Residences, Grand Terraces Subdivision, Golden Acres Subdivision, Memorial Park, Vista Verde Subdivision, Redwood Subdivision, Sanitary Landfill, Ananda Subdivision, Virtacci Hills, North Ridge Residences, Heritage Subdivision, Mahogany Subdivision, Vista Verde Phase 4, Modena Consolacion, Greenville Phase 1-B, Veraville Subdivision, Vista De Bahia and Anami Homes North.

Most of these subdivision and housing projects are situated in the mountain areas.

Alegado said her administration has also called upon various developers Consolacion and the adjacent Liloan town to come up with an agreement to help solve the flooding problem in their area.

"We earmarked the amount of P40 million to come up with flood-mitigating projects together with the private sector. It is worthy to note that we are now in the design phase of such projects," she said. — (FREEMAN)
