CEBU, Philippines- Compostela continues to receive pledges made by town natives living and working abroad in order to help construct the Plaza de Compostela.
The pledges were in response to the appeal of Mayor Joel Quiño, Vice Mayor Josephine Abing and town officials to help them realize the project.
The Phase I of the proposed Plaza de Compostela project requires P10 million.
According to Abing, people are set to help each other for the construction of the structure in a lot donated by the Church.
Cebu fifth district Representative Joseph Ace Durano, Governor Hilario Davide III and Vice Governor Agnes Magpale earlier assured their full support to the project.
Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma approved the use of the vacant lot owned by the church at the back of the municipal hall building and in front of the Santiago de Apostol church in Barangay Poblacion.
