CEBU, Philippines - For bringing honor and pride to Lapu-Lapu City, two recently crowned beauty queens are expected to receive financial reward from the city government.
Mayor Paz Radaza earlier announced that she has endorsed to the City Council the giving of financial reward to Miss Earth Philippines Jamie Herrell and Mutya ng Pilipinas Asia Pacific International Eva Psychee Patalinjug who are both residents of the city.
Radaza said that in her proposal, P100,000 will be given to Herrell while P75,000 to Patalinjug.
She said both beauty queens should still be rewarded and honored by the city even if they represented Cebu City in the pageants.
"Both of them have brought honor to our city," Radaza said.
Herrell, who was the Sinulog Festival Queen in 2013, was crowned Miss Earth Philippines last May 1.
Patalinjug, who was also second runner-up in Miss Mandaue 2013 and placed first runner-up in this year's Miss Cebu pageant, was crowned Mutya ng Pilipinas Asia Pacific International a week ago.
Patalinjug is a former Sangguniang Kabataan chair of Barangay Pajo. (FREEMAN)
