CEBU, Philippines- Several packs of suspected illegal drugs were confiscated by the Cebu Anti-Illegal Drug Special Task Group Operation from a resident of Barangay Kalawisan, Lapu-Lapu City on Sunday afternoon.
Police Senior Inspector Wilbert Parilla of Lapu-Lapu City Police Station 3 led the buy bust operation, together with Police Officer 1 Junel Mayola and Police Officer 3 Artchel Tore, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-7.
The entrapment happened around 4:30 p.m. when the suspect Simplicio "Pisyot" Berame, 53, a resident of Zone Lato in the same barangay, was caught on decoy by a police poseur buyer.
Berame was immediately cuffed by the police.
Ten small packs of suspected shabu and a medium packed of the illegal substance were confiscated from his possession.
A melted drug substance, as well as the P200 bill that served as marked money in the operation, was also recovered from the scene.
Parilla said Berame was placed under surveillance for three weeks before the buy-bust was carried out.
The suspect will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, according to Parilla.
