CEBU, Philippines - Illegal drugs worth P150,000 were seized by the operatives of the City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group from an alleged drug pusher in Sitio Baho, Barangay Calamba, Cebu City Thursday.
Nilo Ygoña, 52, a resident of the said place, was arrested in the buy-bust operation past 5 p.m. at his residence.
Confiscated from him was a plastic packet containing big chunks of an alleged shabu which were said to be repacked, a weighing scale, and P2,000 believed to be proceeds of illegal drugs.
Superintendent Romeo Santander, CIB chief, said that Ygoña is categorized as level two drug pusher and is believed to be a right hand of a drug lord operating in the city.
The CIB conducted three-day surveillance against Ygoña which confirmed his illegal activity before they carried out the operation.
"Harap-harapan kaayo ang iyang pagpamaligya, mura’g wala'y gikahadlokan," Santander said.
A poseur buyer then negotiated Ygoña and bought a packet of shabu in exchange for P200. Right after the transaction, Ygoña was then arrested by the police.
CIB frisked Ygoña and found four big packets of shabu from his possession.
Santander said that Ygoña was a brother of a Talamban councilman, which police believed why he was reportedly confident in dealing illegal drugs in the area. Police, however, are yet to talk with Ygoña's brother.
Ygoña is now detained at the Cebu City Police Office stockade pending filing for Section 5 of R.A. 9165 or Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (FREEMAN)
