CEBU, Philippines - A Mandaue City-based non-government organization assisted the city government programs to educate the people at the barangay level and school in addressing the health problems and awareness in preparation for any disaster and calamities.
Kaabag Mandaue, Inc. using their owned resources visited 27 barangays in Mandaue City and conducted information dissemination to address problems that threatened their health under a wellness program.
Aside from barangays, the group also visited the different schools to educate the students. These include preparation of any disaster and calamities.
Sarah Cortes, wife of Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes said that they visited the barangays and educate the parents the importance of health especially to the children.
Kaabag Mandaue Inc. also conducted feeding to selected schools where the beneficiaries were grade one students.
The group also distributed used clothings and food assistance to families affected by fire in Mandaue City.
Engineer Ricardo Mendoza, head of the Solid Waste and Management Section of Mandaue City said that Kaabag Mandaue Inc. contributed to the success of the city government program on environmental preservation and protection.
Mendoza said they are now targeting the support of the students in private and public schools in Mandaue City. (FREEMAN)
