CEBU, Philippines - The improvement of the services of all day care centers in the different barangays of Mandaue City has been given priority by the City Council.
The Mandaue City Council has passed a resolution authorizing Mayor Jonas Cortes to release funds to be use as cash incentives to barangay who have outstanding day care centers.
Councilor Ben Basiga introduced the resolution and got the support of the members of the City Council who were convinced of his intention to help day care centers in the different barangays.
Members of the City Council were informed by the City Nutrition Council that there are available funds for the said purpose.
However, before the release of the said amount, there is a need for the City Council to pass a resolution giving authority to Mayor Jonas Cortes for the release of the amount needed.
Councilor Demetrio Cortes, Jr. manifested that they supported the move of Basiga, but there is a need for proper allocation and the mayor's should be given first.
The move to provide cash incentives to barangay who had outstanding day care centers in order to improve and strengthen their services especially with the opening of classes. (FREEMAN)
