CEBU, Philippines - Senior Superintendent Orlando Ualat, Police Regional Office-7 officer-in-charge, has directed station commanders from the cities of Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue to explain why their deployment plans were not followed.
Ualat said he went to Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue yesterday morning to check if the station commanders were complying with their respective deployment plans.
Ualat observed that four police stations were not fully complying with the deployment plan in Mandaue Central School, Subangdaku Elementary School, Lapu-Lapu Central School and Ibo Elementary School.
He directed Senior Superintendent Erson Digal of Regional Operations and Plans Division to write a memorandum to the four station commanders for their explanation.
"I have directed Sr. Supt. Digal para mo-explain ang station chiefs involved why they should not be held liable," he said.
Ualat said the deployment of police officers to man the police assistance centers in the school is to facilitate the needs of the parents during the opening of classes.
"The purpose of deployment is defeated. It's supposed to be 6 o'clock but some of them were late, some not there," he said.
Ualat said he brought a photographer to take photos of the empty Police Assistance Centers that were supposed to be manned with at least two police personnel.
After the inspection, he called for a conference of all the city directors and the Cebu Provincial Police Office director to tackle on the concern.
He said he is exerting efforts even in his capacity as OIC because securing the opening of classes is part of the major function of the PNP.
