CEBU, Philippines - Four were arrested after yielding 23 packs of suspected shabu worth P450,000 in a buy bust operation in Dancar, Danao City on Tuesday evening.
Operatives of the Regional Anti-illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group conducted the operation.
Arrested were Alcar Toilbas, Rene Beduya, Eric Escobillo and Norlito Batulan, who tried to resist at first.
Initially, Toilbas was the only subject of the operation, but Beduya, Escubillo and Batulan were present during the raid, hence, they were arrested. They allegedly assisted the suspect when the transaction was made.
RAIDSOTG placed Toilbas under surveillance for almost a month after they received reports that he is engaged in illegal drug activities in Danao City.
Toilbas is believed to dispose at least 250 grams of shabu per week and his operation is not confined only in Danao City. He is said to operate in the neighboring towns in northern Cebu.
Upon confirmation of the reports, police officers arranged a buy-bust operation that led to the arrest of the suspects.
A police poseur buyer made a transaction with Toilbas and a few minutes later, they reached an agreement.
After Toilbas handed over the suspected shabu to a poseur buyer, he was immediately arrested by the RAIDSOTG operatives.
The four suspects tried to resist during the arrest but police officers overpowered them.
They will face a case for violating R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002. (FREEMAN)
