CEBU, Philippines - A total of 68 residents from Barangay Pajo who have undergone training on high-speed sewing are now employed at Mactan Export Zone in Lapu-Lapu City, barangay captain Junard "Ahong" Chan said in an announcement yesterday.
According to Chan, the batch of trainees graduated the other day.
Chan said more than 100 residents in Barangay Pajo underwent training, in cooperation with Sports City International.
"Nalipay kaayo kita nga 100 percent gayud nga nakasulod og trabaho ang atong mga kaigsoonan sa Barangay Pajo pinaagi sa atong mga paningkamot," said Chan.
He said that the training will continue and those trainees will be accommodated at the different companies inside MEZ.
Earlier, Barangay Pajo, represented by Chan, signed a memorandum of agreement with Sports City International which runs Metro Wear and Global Wear Apparels operating inside MEZ.
Kim Francisco, manager of Sports City International, said they agreed to partner with Barangay Pajo because of Chan's dedication to serve his constituents. (FREEMAN)
