CEBU, Philippines - Businessmen in Consolacion town reportedly lauded the administration of Mayor Teresa Alegado for implementing programs aimed at fast-tracking the release of papers for renewal and getting of new business permits.
The businessmen in the town echoed their appreciation based of the results of last month's renewal of business permits for business and industrial establishments that are based in the town.
Alegado issued a directive to the Municipal Treasurer's Office to fast track the releasing of business permits by adopting the one-stop-shop.
The mayor said that addressing the needs of the private sector through quick services is one way of appreciating their importance. She further assured that the town remains business friendly to current and prospective investors.
She added that after SM City Consolacion was constructed, a number of business and industrial establishments are now putting their businesses in Consolacion.
In the municipality of Compostela, meanwhile, the local government announced that lots for lite industries and environment-friendly establishments are available.
According to Mayor Joel Quiño, representatives of the different business and industrial establishments in Cebu City and Manila visited Compostela over the weekend and inquired on the possibility of pouring in their investments in the town.
Quiño told them that Compostela is ideal site for lite industries and businesses as long as they do not pose danger to the environment.
"Atong ipahibawo sa atong mga kaigsoonan nga gitagaan gyud nato sa pagtagad ang atong mga katawhan ug negosyante nga makabutang og patigayon sa atong lungsod (We would like to inform our people that we have really given attention to the needs of our constituents and businessmen to invest in our town)," said Quiño.
