Earlier, Ret. Major Edwin Ermac, chief of operation of the Traffic Enforcement Agency of Mandaue, said his office won't introduce any rerouting scheme because they have agreed with DPWH that one lane will be left opened to the motorists once these road rehabilitations start.
Ermac said that of the eight major road projects, only two of these projects will build up traffic congestions as since they are undertaken on the city's major thoroughfares.
He then urged the public to follow the directional signs to lessen the impact of heavy traffic, this as the city government has already prepared for possible traffic woes by hiring an additional 20 more traffic enforcers.
"We asked for these infrastructure projects to improve our city, but since we can't do it overnight, ato lang gi-urge ang public to bear with the traffic situation samtang nag-ayo ta sa atong kadalanan," Ermac said. (FREEMAN)
