Small farmers in Danao get boost
CEBU, Philippines - The city government of Danao will prioritize the promotion of products in the different barangays as part of its program to provide livelihood to the people, especially the small farmers.
Danao City Vice Mayor Ramon "Red" Durano VI said the success of last year's Christmas Bazaar in Danao, participated by the different clustered barangays, gave him an idea to assist the small farmers to promote and market their respective products.
The city vice mayor said that the local government will provide full support to attain their goal of helping the small farmers.
"Sa unang gipahigayon nato nga kalihukan sa dakbayan, gipakita sa atong mga kaigsoonan ang mga nagkalain-laing mga proyekto nga mahimo natong ika-promote ngadto sa uban og mapangitaan ug dakong merkado," said Durano.
Representatives from the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry assured the city officials of Danao that they will also provide assistance in helping the small farmers. They noted the need to repackage and market Danao City's local products.
Poblacion Barangay Captain Calvin Tuadles told The Freeman that they fully support the city government's plan.
Tuadles said that he, and other barangay captains, especially those who compose of their cluster, agreed to push for the promotion of their products. (FREEMAN)
