Talisay SP needs money to pave roads

Garry B. Lao - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - The Talisay City council has asked Capitol and Rep. Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gullas for financial assistance for the asphalting of of E.H. Basco Street, which is considered one of the city’s strategic thoroughfares.

Councilor Aldin M. Diaz, through a proposed resolution, said there is a dire need to rehabilitate the existing barangay roads due to the increasing number of vehicles passing in the area.

The proposal, which was approved by the council last Tuesday, asks for P5 million from Governor Hilario Davide III and P1-million each from Gullas, Vice Governor Magpale, and provincial board members Julian Daan and Raul Alcoseba.

“It is high time and necessary that the road rehabilitation should be prioritized so as to prevent untoward incidents in barangay Dumlog,” Diaz said.

Diaz said residents are complaining about the inconvenience caused by the unpaved road.  (FREEMAN)
