CEBU, Philippines - Lapu-Lapu City Police Chief Senior Inspector Rey Lyndon Lawas said the police last week shot dead an alleged drug pusher while four others including a 73-year-old widower and a juvenile were arrested in separate buy-bust operations in Barangay Calawisan.
Harold Van Abad, of sitio Lato Barangay Calawisan, sustained a gunshot wound on the body.
Arrested were Rodulfo Sumalinog, 73; Joseph Inihao, 26; Candido Matus, Jr., and his 16-year-old son, all of Barangay Calawisan.
Matus, a former taxi driver, became a big time drug pusher in Barangay Calawisan after moving into the place three months ago.
Lawas said the police are checking reports that Matus’ group employs senior citizens and juveniles to camouflage its illegal business. (FREEMAN)
