Girl, 9, drowns

CEBU, Philippines -  A nine-year-old girl drowned Friday evening at a beach resort in Barangay Dumlog, Talisay City.

Glaze Lopez of  Barangay Lagtang, Talisay died on the way to hospital.

Police Inspector Rogene Fodutan said the girl and an aunt was at the Lagtang National High School Christmas Party which was held at the resort.

As alleged, the girl slipped away from the group and was found at the pool by a teacher.

Lopez was immediately brought to the Talisay City District Hospital but she was declared dead on arrival.  (FREEMAN)
